The Department of East Asian Studies/Sinology at the University of Vienna and the Culture Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Austria (TECO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to encourage, support and develop researching and teaching on Taiwan at the Department of East Asian Studies/Sinology. The activities to be supported by TECO include the participation of Austrian scholars in an international conference at National Chengchi University, Taipei, the publication and presentation of two conference volumes, as well as a Taiwan lecture series at the Department of East Asian Studies/Sinology introducing recent research by renowned Taiwan scholars from Taiwan, Europe and the United States.
