How to apply through the faculty

  1. Prior to submitting, please send your application draft (or the finished version if applicable) incl. budget and other relevant documents to our service address (drittmittelservice.philkult@univie.ac.at) for checking. Please allow up to 3 weeks for the check.
  2. The Faculty's external funding coordinator will review the budget and the application for completeness and with regard to formal requirements. Documents related to FWF-PROFI mode applications need not be sent by e-mail if they are accessible in ELANE, but we would ask you to inform the coordinator (drittmittelservice.philkult@univie.ac.at) if you wish your application documents to be reviewed. At the very latest, however, please inform the coordinator when you are ready to submit.
  3. If you require support, e.g. with cost calculation, you are very welcome to contract third party funding services at any time. Furthermore, calculation tools and other helpful links are available in this website's internal area.
  4. The faculty also requires a confirmation by the head of department that the project will be implemented at the department and that the necessary infrastructure (work spaces, in particular) will be made available. An informal e-mail from the HoD to drittmittelservice.philkult@univie.ac.at is sufficient. If the head of department is the PI, the application must be okayed by the deputy head of department.
  5. In case you suspect that you might be affected by §109 (successive contract regulations), please contact HR to double-check in advance.
  6. When you are ready to submit, please send the finalised application documents for documentation in u:cris as well as any documents the Dean needs to sign to drittmittelservice.philkult@univie.ac.at, except once again for FWF applications that are administrated via ELANE.
  7. The finished and signed documents well be reurned to you within a week (within two weeks outside of term time) if a scanned version is sufficient. If the original signature is required, we will contact you and ask you to collect the signed papers at the Dean's office.
